INTERNET GIVEAWAY – MYFOXAUSTIN.COM PET PIC OF THE WEEK II
OFFICIAL RULES
Who Can Enter
1. Entrants must be legal Central Texas residents residing in Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Gillespie, Hays, Lee, Llano, Mason, Travis, or Williamson County who are 13 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet and a valid email address.
2. Employees of NW Communications of Austin, Inc., and its station KTBC FOX 7, (“KTBC FOX 7”), Bark ‘N Purr Pet Center (collectively, “Sponsors”), their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible.
3. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Qualified entrants may enter once a week. The giveaway begins on Monday, July 28, 2008, and ends on Monday, December 22, 2008. The weekly entry period begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Time each Monday and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time each Sunday. No entries will be accepted after 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Sunday, December 14, 2008.
4. To enter, entrants must email to myfoxaustinpets@gmail.com a JPEG, GIF or BMP photo of their pet in an email message including entrant’s name, age, hometown, daytime phone number, and pet’s name. Entrants must have the right or permission to submit the pet photo. Professionally taken photos will not be accepted. All eligible pet photos will be posted in a photo gallery on the Pets Page of myFOXaustin.com. Entry constitutes an assignment to Sponsors of all intellectual property rights in the entry materials. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ names, hometowns, likenesses, and photos for online posting, and/or any advertising and publicity without additional compensation.
5. Each Monday, beginning August 4 through December 15, 2008, FOX 7 personnel will judge and select four pet photos from among the eligible photos received during the previous week’s entry period (for example, on August 4, four pet photos will be selected from among eligible photos received between Monday, July 28, and Sunday, August 3). Photos will be judged and selected on the basis of creativity, originality and style. Selected photos will become “finalists” and will be posted for eight days in the “Pick the Pet Pic of the Week” section of the Pets Page, where the public will be invited to vote for their favorite. The public vote begins each week at 5:00 p.m. Central Time on Monday, beginning August 4, 2008, and ends at 12:00 p.m. Central Time on the following Monday. At the end of each week’s public voting period, the one finalist receiving the most public votes will be named the “myFOXaustin.com Pet Pic of the Week.” The first “Pet Pic of the Week” will be named for the week beginning Monday, August 11, 2008, and thereafter one winning pet photo named for each week through the week beginning Monday, December 22, 2008. Each winning pet photo will hold the title of “myFOXaustin.com Pet Pic of the Week” from 12:00 p.m. on Monday until 12:00 p.m. on the following Monday, when the new “myFOXaustin.com Pet Pic of the Week” is selected by public vote.
6. Sponsors are not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner or other giveaway information by Sponsors or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsors are also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the giveaway or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. All entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE GIVEAWAY IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsors reserve the right to cancel the giveaway if it becomes technically corrupted.
7. One winner will be selected each Monday of the giveaway by online public vote for a total of twenty winners.
The Prize
8. Entrants whose pet photos win the weekly “Pet Pic of the Week” vote will receive a $10 gift certificate to be used at Bark ‘N Purr Pet Center, 4604 Burnet Road, in Austin, Texas, as well as the honor of having the “myFOXaustin.com Pet Pic of the Week” for one week. The total retail value of the prize is $10. Gift certificate is provided by Bark ‘N Purr Pet Center.
9. Each week’s winner will be notified by email and/or phone as soon as their pet photo is deemed the “myFOXaustin.com Pet Pic of the Week” on Monday at or just after 12:00 p.m. To claim the $10 gift certificate, winners must come to the KTBC FOX 7 studio and complete, sign and return a Certification of Eligibility and Release within five business days of the date of notification, or they will be disqualified. If a winner cannot be reached, or if a winner does not return the Certification of Eligibility and Release within the designated time period, their prize will not be awarded.
10. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winners. Winners cannot assign or transfer prize. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason.
11. Winners are responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on prize based on the value of the prize set forth in these rules.
12. Only one prize will be awarded per household address. Individuals are eligible to win only one prize within any 30-day period, regardless of the number of giveaways entered.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
13. Odds of winning depend on the number and quality of entries received.
14. These giveaway rules are available at myFOXaustin.com through Sunday, December 14, 2008, and Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at KTBC FOX 7, 119 E. 10th Street, Austin, Texas, through Friday, December 26, 2008.

16. This giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules. Sponsors are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, offering, or administration of the giveaway, or in the announcement of the prize.
17. By entering, participants represent that they are eligible, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, (b) to release Sponsors, their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, and (c) to Sponsors’ use of entrants’ personal information as described in KTBC FOX 7’s Privacy Policy located at myFOXaustin.com.
